This one will use the scheme on the box, but I'll need to tweak it a little to avoid any confusion with the other RR in the group.

If you have access to a color laser printer you could get some decal paper and solution:

http://www.microscale.com/index.htm

and make your own.

For those of us who've not been there - can you post directions or the club's website?

Thanks,

This is a kit?
21  General Category / General Club Discussion / Re: 1/12 Scale racing on: January 04, 2010, 11:46:45 AM
I hope to; though I do need to build Foamy warbirds before March. The ARF/kit/scratch-build options should make it feasible for most of the current racers.

Dumb question, but is it possible to change the pitch on an APC prop? I assume not. I mean I cannot heat it up and twist it can I?

So I'd need to get the end bell off - not sure if it's pressed on or screwed on (on T-28 motor it's actually screwed on), get the right gauge wire, rewind it with the same number of winds to be legal.... seems like a lot of work.

The Warbird pylon Eflite 450. Guess I could figure out how to rewind it.

Thanks,

29  General Category / General Club Discussion / Some days... on: September 06, 2009, 11:34:51 PM
It's not often one crashes twice the same day, a feat I seemed to manage comfortably today. First I managed to bash into a 1" wide pylon pole - that wasn't too bad, just a matter of  epoxy and a new cowl till I realized the motor shaft was also bent [that's also fixable]. Then I figured I don't get to the field all that often so I'd fly this little Alfa Mig-15. Well, on landing, sorta cross wind, slowed it down too much, wind got under the wing and my reactions weren't there to apply aileron and full throttle. The belly slop destroyed the nose and wing mount. Doesn't look repairable. Unfortunate, only 4 flights and an enjoyable machine to fly.

So then I'm at home and I figure I'll discharge all packs to 50%. Now I don't have a discharge system setup so I go and stick each pack into the 450 powered La-7. All seems normal until I see smoke coming from the motor. It seems perhaps the combination of a long run and poor motor ventilation caused the motor to overheat. Seems to be destroyed.

All in all a pretty expensive day from an aeromodelling point of view!

Patrick
